Explore interactive charts to track your symptoms over time, understand the impact of medications and physical activity and provide your care team with a comprehensive view of your Parkinson’s experience.
StrivePD automatically captures daily resting tremor and dyskinesia estimates (FDA cleared measures) when you wear an Apple Watch paired with your account. The main chart displays a rolling average of recorded symptom data over the past 7 days. Rings indicate daily watch recording above or below the recommended 6 hours per day - the minimum monitoring time required to calculate trend averages. Capturing a broad timeline of symptom fluctuations will help build a quantifiable history to review with your care team for personalized care strategies.
Tremor & Dyskinesia data visualization Basics
1. Tap the chart to open the timeline view - the Day timeframe selection offers a 24-hour visualization with logged medications and physical activity. Swipe right to see historical data or tap a different time selector to view by week, two-week, month and three-month increments.
2. Tap a point on the timeline to see the motor symptom values for that time period.
3. Tap a logged event circle icon to view medication or activity details.
How is my watch data uploaded?
StrivePD automatically syncs data recorded by your Apple Watch to your iPhone throughout the day, as long as the StrivePD app is running on both devices and you have granted Health and Motion & Fitness permissions to StrivePD. If you have exited (force quit) the StrivePD app on either device, or you're offline for any period of time (out of WiFi or cellular range), you may experience a lag in watch uploads. You can manually trigger an upload by tapping on the Update button in the timeline view, directly under the Hours Monitored indicator.
This will trigger the StrivePD app to open on your watch and you'll see an indication that your phone is working on getting your data here and on the home screen when you exit the timeline view.
The watch can store up to 7 days of motor symptom data, so depending on the amount of data available on your watch to upload when you trigger this refresh, it can take a few seconds or up to several minutes to get up to date. Because of the way Apple prepares this data for upload, you can expect the data to be refreshed to within approximately 10 minutes of the current time, assuming there is data up to that time available. We recommend wearing your watch for monitoring as much as possible to get as complete a picture as possible of your day - and checking your monitoring time at the end of the day to be sure the connection is working as expected.
Connection errors
If your phone is unable to connect with your watch, you'll see an error message when attempting an update.
Make sure your phone and watch are both charged sufficiently, the watch is unlocked and bluetooth connection is strong between the devices. If you're still having trouble, try force quitting the app on both devices, re-start the apps and try again. If it's still not working, you can try re-installing the StrivePD app on your devices - make sure to double check the email associated with your account before signing out to delete the app for a re-install - it can be easy to forget which email you used to sign up if you use more than one email account for different services.
How can I learn more about this chart and motor symptoms more generally related to Parkinson's?
Reading through the educational information below the timeline is a great way to understand some of the motor symptoms associated with Parkinson's Disease and the different ways it can affect your body.
You can also learn more about motor symptoms like tremors (shaking), slowed movement, stiffness (feeling tight or rigid) and balance issues in other sections of our Help Center. By viewing and understanding these symptoms, you can have a better idea of what you're experiencing and how to define it.
