Overview
StrivePD’s pump feature lets you track and manage treatments like AbbVie’s Vyalev directly in the app, including base, low, and high rates plus loading and extra doses. It also gives you a quick view of your most recent pump activity on the My Day screen.
What this feature does
- Adds your pump settings (for example, Vyalev base rate, optional low/high rates, loading dose, and extra dose) into StrivePD so they’re easy to reference alongside your symptoms and medications.
- Creates a dedicated pump card on My Day where you can start the pump in the app, see your current rate, and check recent loading or extra doses at a glance.
- Helps you stay within your prescribed plan by reminding you of time windows between doses, similar to lockouts on the pump device itself.
Before you start
Have these details ready:
- Your pump prescription, including:
- Base rate
- Low and/or high rates (if used)
- Loading dose amount and lockout time
- Extra dose (bolus) amount and lockout time
- The date and time you first started using your pump (or when you started today’s infusion, if you are already on therapy).
Step 1: Open Pump Settings
- Open StrivePD.
- From the My Day screen, tap the gear icon in the top navigation bar to open Settings.
- In Settings, tap Profile.
- Scroll down to the Pump Settings section and tap Set up (or Add pump, if no pump is set up yet).
Step 2: Add your pump
On the Pump Settings screen:
- Choose your pump (for example, AbbVie Vyalev (foscarbidopa/foslevodopa)), if a list is shown.
- Under Current settings, enter the parameters you received from your clinician or from your pump:
- Base Rate – your main continuous rate (for example,
1.00 mL/h). - Low Rate (optional) – a lower rate used at certain times (for example, night).
- High Rate (optional) – a higher rate used at certain times (for example, periods of more symptoms).
- Loading Dose – the amount used when starting or re‑starting your infusion, plus the lockout time between loading doses.
- Extra Dose (Bolus) – the amount for extra doses, plus the lockout time between extra doses.
- Base Rate – your main continuous rate (for example,
- Double‑check that all values match the settings on your pump or your prescription.
- Tap Save.

Once saved, a new pump card appears on your My Day screen with a Start pump button.
Step 3: Start your pump in StrivePD
- On My Day, find your pump card.
- Tap Start pump.
- When prompted, enter the time and date you first turned your pump on:
- If you are just starting therapy, use your actual start date and time.
- If you are already on therapy, use the start time for today’s infusion.
After you confirm, the card will show your current dose state (for example, BASE DOSE SINCE 12:08 PM) along with your next oral medication below.
Step 4: Manage doses from the pump card
From the pump card on My Day, tap anywhere on the card to open the pump controls.
You can now:
Switch between Low, Base, and High
- Tap Low, Base, or High to reflect the rate currently active on your pump.
- The selected option is highlighted so you can see which rate you are on and when you changed it.
Log a loading dose
- Tap Loading Dose.
- Enter the time you delivered the loading dose on your pump.
- StrivePD uses the loading dose amount and lockout time you saved in Pump Settings to interpret this event.
- If the time you enter is too close to a previous loading or extra dose, the app will warn you that the lockout period has not yet elapsed.
Log an extra dose (bolus)
- Tap Extra Dose (or Bolus).
- Enter the time you delivered the extra dose on your pump.
- The app uses your saved extra dose amount and lockout time.
- If you try to log another extra dose within the lockout window, you’ll see a warning so you can stay within your prescribed plan.
Step 5: Use My Day for quick checks
The My Day screen gives you a quick overview of your pump alongside the rest of your day:
- The pump card shows whether you’re currently on Low, Base, or High, and when that setting started.
- Your most recent extra dose time is visible so you can see at a glance how long it has been since the last extra dose.
- You can pause changes or log events quickly without digging into settings, keeping your pump activity aligned with your symptoms, activity, and medications.
If anything in your pump settings changes, update the same fields in Profile → Pump Settings so StrivePD stays in sync with your prescribed therapy.
